Have you been dreaming of your next vacation? Have you had to cancel flights over the last few months? Are you wondering where to go when we’re on the other side of these flight bans and Covid-19?
If so, look no further!
Sure, we’re all going to see major changes in airports and regulations in flight, but that’s okay. Safe to say many of us will do whatever it takes to get back in the air and start traveling again. Longer lines and a slower process won’t stop us! It’ll be worth it for what lies ahead when we land in Turks and Caicos!
5 REASONS why Turks and Caicos be top of the list for your post Covid-19 travel plans?
Small Island – Okay, you’re thinking “why would I go to a small island if I’m worried about crowds and social distancing?” With the population of Providenciales under 25,000 people, you’re not headed into a mega metropolis, so it doesn’t matter if it’s a small Island! Providenciales IS NOT a cruise ship port, therefore, you’re not dealing with droves of people swarming The Island any given day of the week. Grand Turk is the cruise ship port and even with that, you can hop on a quick flight from Providenciales over to Grand Turk on the days no ships are in port, making social distancing an easy task. It's a win, win!
Restaurants – You can’t go to Turks and Caicos and not try to eat at as many restaurants as possible. They are all amazing! But maybe you’ll still be concerned with restaurants being too crowded making them unsafe. Don’t worry! Like we said before, The Island may be small but so is the population. With an abundance of amazing restaurants there’s plenty of room for locals and tourists. Maybe avoid the more popular nights at some places and opt for take-away instead, but don’t let crowded restaurants deter you from enjoying the flavors of the island cuisine or Turks and Caicos. There are plenty of options for you to dine safely and comfortably on the island.
Resorts – As you may or may not know, one of the attractions that draw many of us back to Turks and Caicos is the lack of resorts congesting the shoreline. This is a great thing! While many will argue it’s already becoming too built up, we assure you, from a tourist’s perspective, it’s still low key and just as beautiful as ever. We agree with the locals though, it would be a shame if it does become built up like other islands in the future….it’s what makes this Island so special. However, where were we? Oh yes, even with the larger resorts dotted along Grace Bay Beach, there’s so much room both within the resorts and on the beach at your resort. We’ve traveled in both high and low seasons, and have yet to see a crowded beach or beach resort. This is a great reason to consider Turks and Caicos for your travel plans if you’re concerned with social distancing.
The Beach – I’m sure by this stage we don’t have to convince you why the beaches are a good enough reason in themselves to hit Turks and Caicos. Turquoise water, powdery white sand, views for days…..you know. Well another reason the beaches are a good attraction post Covid-19 is that ALL the beaches in Turks and Caicos are public beaches. Tourists aren’t restricted to certain areas, like you see in mega resort islands, creating crowded spots and chaos. With miles and miles of shoreline, there’s plenty of room for every tourist and local alike, to share in the beauty and calm of the gorgeous beaches in Turks and Caicos.
Government Actions During Covid-19 – Turks and Caicos Government didn’t waste anytime in securing The Islands safety during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. In fact, with only one or two reported case on The Island at the time, the government immediately placed The Island on lock down from March 27th to May 4th. No air travel in or out till June 1st or later (yet to be determined). While 12 more cases were reported during lock down, they were secured on Island and the risk of community spread was thankfully minimal. Sadly, one Islander lost their life to the horrible virus and our thoughts and prayers go out to that family. But if not for the quick actions of the TCI Government and commitment of the locals, things could have been a lot worse. Today, we’re happy to hear that because of all the efforts of the locals and government alike, there are ZERO cases in Turks and Caicos! What an amazing community of people! Kudos to the People of TCI and the Government for acting quick and ensuring everyone's safety!
So, with all that said, what’s keeping you?
Pack your bags and start planning your next holiday to The Beautiful By Nature, Turks and Caicos Islands!
